Setting up a signature file:

Outlook Express:

  1. Copy the code and paste into a text editor (like notepad). Save as "signature.html" in a directory where it will not be moved or deleted.
  2. In Outlook Express, click the TOOLS menu at the top of the screen.
  3. Select the OPTIONS menu from the dropdown window.
  4. Select the SIGNATURE tab from the window menu that opens.
  5. In the middle of the window (the section called "Signatures), click the NEW button.
  6. In the bottom section of the window ("Edit Signature"), click the radial box marked "File"
  7. Click the browse button and point to the path where you saved signature.html.
  8. Click OK. The signature will now appear on all outgoing mail. Note: You may need to change the format of your outgoing mail to Rich Text (HTML) in order for html coding to show up. This is done from the FORMAT menu in the New Message (composing) Window.

Netscape Messenger (4.7x)

  1. Copy the code and paste into a text editor (like notepad). Save as "signature.html" in a directory where it will not be moved or deleted.
  2. In Netscape Messenger, click the EDIT menu at the top of the screen.
  3. Select the PREFERENCES menu from the dropdown window.
  4. Click the + box next to "Mail & Newsgroups"
  5. Select "Identity" from the file tree (it should be the first category)
  6. In the bottom input box, enter the path for signature.html - or click the browse button and point to the path.
  7. Click OK. The signature will now appear on all outgoing mail.

Netscape Messenger (6.x)

  1. Copy the code and paste into a text editor (like notepad). Save as "signature.html" in a directory where it will not be moved or deleted.
  2. In Netscape Messenger, click the MAIL & NEWSGROUP ACCOUNT SETTINGS menu at the top of the screen.
  3. A new window will open. Click the box that reads "Attach this signature:"
  4. In the input box, enter the path for signature.html - or click the choose button and point to the path.
  5. Click OK. The signature will now appear on all outgoing mail.

Hotmail

  1. Copy the code for the banner(s) you want to include.
  2. Log into your hotmail account.
  3. Click Options.
  4. In the Additional Options column, click signature.
  5. Click the box that reads "Show the rich-text toolbar"
  6. Paste the code you copied in step one into the input box.
  7. Click OK. The signature will now appear on all outgoing mail.
