Indiana NORML Surveys Members to get their feedback on INORML and what we can do to better serve you. We will occasionally be posting the feedback with responses from the INORML Board. Identifications will never be revealed. Check back often for updates.

When asked why they originally joined INORML respondents stated:

Respondent: "I figured you could use the money and membership numbers"
INORML: You were right! Thanks for supporting us, we couldn't do it without people like you!

Respondent: "Decriminalization, to many lives are being destroyed by arrest. Legalization stops monies being wasted on courts, jails, gangs, police, etc."
INORML: INORML agrees completely.

When asked what they'd like to see INORML do more or better of respondents stated:

Respondent: "I'd like to see INORML in the media, in advertising, and in the public spotlight more"
INORML: We got a lot of responses that were just like this. We on the INORML Board would like to see the same thing, but every time we send out a press release, call the media to cover our events, or even attempt to buy advertising with local media sources, we get brushed to the side. Why? Because the media doesn't want to deal with "controversial subjects". (with the exception of Nuvo who has always been good to us)

How can you help? Write all the media outlets you frequent and tell them you want to see them give Indiana NORML the proper attention it deserves. Call the radio stations, tell them to play our PSA's. Yes I've contacted them, now it's your turn. Write the newspaper editors, tell them to run stories on us and write letters to the editor of your favorite paper about Indiana NORML and/or marijuana reform. Call your favorite local TV newscaster and ask him why he didn't report that Governor Mitch Daniel's supports medical marijuana if kept out of recreational users hands.

Yes we would love to be in the media's spotlight.. but we can't do it without support.

(We could also use $$ to buy billboard and/or television advertising around the state.. Donate Today!)

Respondent: "I feel that NORML should hold more gatherings of members together to have an open field of supporters to have serious discussions on what we need to do as a team to help decriminalization go into effect."
INORML: We do have meetings at least once a month and would encourage you to join us. You can voice your opinions, offer your support, and "help fight for our rights as Americans and as people to have decriminalization in the United States and hopefully someday globally." (quoting respondent) Next meeting is Saturday March 8th. Email us for directions at inorml@inorml.org.

Respondent: "Somehow get chapters in every county."
INORML: Well I don't know about every county, but we are forming them in a lot of new regions. Evansville is forming a chapter in the South Western corner of the state. Southern Indiana NORML handles the South Eastern Corner of the state. We have Ball State NORML which is currently going through some changes, but we're doing what we can to help them reorganize. There's always Purdue NORML who is a very active and excited bunch of college students doing great things in their area. Speaking of the Ft Wayne area, there is a chapter forming there in the near future, as well as in Bloomington. With that all said, if you or someone you know would like to start a chapter in your area of the state, or would like to join one of the newest chapters contact us at inorml@inorml.org.

Respondent: "I think Indiana NORML is doing a wonderful job."
INORML: Thank you, we appreciate the kind words and vote of confidence.

When asked for additional comments respondents stated:

Respondent: "I'd like to see the information on the sheet enclosed become public knowledge"
INORML: That we can do! 1972 Marijuana Commission Report pdf
You're welcome

Respondent: "Just putting word out to the non believers"
INORML:
Great job! Keep it up!

Respondent: "Myself and my friends have used marijuana for 35+ years with no dire or ill effects. We come from a time when it was and still is a truly recreational plant. The feds are giving the youth of America the wrong information on marijuana, (Telling them it is so bad and dangerous) causing them to think all drugs must be harmless like marijuana is."
INORML: While we don't condone breaking the law, we do encourage you to educate the youth about the truth about marijuana. Studies have shown that the DARE program does not reduce drug use but the numbers of youth using drugs in study areas have actually increased. Tell your school board members you're upset about DARE being in your children's schools as well. Let your votes be your voice. One mind at a time, one day at a time, one law at a time.

Respondent: "NORML ROCKS!"
INORML: We think pretty highly of our members too.
