Here’s some awesome science that backs up legalization!
Another study, this time done by a team of researchers from the United States, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, has once again shown that even habitual marijuana smoking is not associated with an increased risk of lung cancer.
The study involved 5,000 participants and provided little evidence that marijuana smoking has any affect on risk of lung cancer. The participants were from all around the world and were comprised of 2,159 cases and 2,985 controls.
An accompanying commentary in the same journal affirmed, “[C]annabis smoking does not seem to increase risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or airway cancers. In fact, there is even a suggestion that at low doses cannabis may be protective for both conditions.”
This is not the first study to come to this conclusion, not by a long shot. Another research team in UCLA in 2013 reached the conclusion that smoking marijuana poses a relatively small threat to lung health, with far fewer risks than tobacco smoke.
The truth about cannabis is coming out, slowly but surely! The more we are able to actually research cannabis and its effects, the more arguments we’ll have for legalization. Prohibitionists can only hide behind their false propaganda and lies for so long, but eventually science and reason will win this fight.
Don’t forget to share, and stay tuned for more legalization updates!
